So recently there have been some findings of the very invasive zebra mussel. It has been found on shipments of moss ball in the last 4 months. These mussels were found in the “betta buddy marimo moss ball” which are very commonly found in retail pet stores. If you or someone you know have bought moss balls please check your tanks for zebra mussels. If you do find them do not do a water change or dump anything from the tank down the sinks or toilets. You should immediately call the department of fish and wildlife 1-877-786-7267 so they can advise what to do.
